Recipe For Sleep: Calming The Brain

If you have racing thoughts that keep you from falling asleep at night, or that keep you from falling back to sleep, try this simple visualization game:

For 5-10 seconds: Picture yourself in that moment (step outside yourself and see yourself lying in bed).

Then…

For 5-10 seconds: Picture other people anywhere in the world and what they are doing (go wherever your mind takes you and try to see the detail).

Toggle back and forth from ‘You’ to ‘Others’ several times. This should allow your brain to calm and coerce you to sleep.

There are no limits to what you can visualize (and don’t worry about time zones, of course).

I sometimes think of people sitting in traffic in the streets of Japan,
a scientist gathering data in Antarctica,
a family eating dinner in Ireland,
and people leaving work and heading to the beach,

…zzzzzzzzzzzzz

We can discuss WHY your body is not regulating sleep well during your next CONSULTATION.
It can take only a few tips and a little science to make a world of difference!
