PantryPic #618: Black Pepper

Organic Black Pepper.
-Ground Black Pepper will maintain its freshness for about 3 months.
-Using a hand-held mill for grinding your own peppercorns will ensure the freshest pepper
(and these have an incredibly long shelf life).
-One teaspoon contains 6% of our daily Manganese needs
(along with Zinc, Potassium, Magnesium, and Iron).
-It helps to avoid intestinal gas from forming
(known as a carminative).
-The essential oils contain warming properties which can assist our removal of toxins via sweating.
-Contains anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, antibacterial, fever-reducing, and immune boosting properties.
-The outer layer of the peppercorn promotes the break-down of fat cells.

Great in virtually any soup, salad, dip, veggie, chili, or entree recipe.
-To help maintain the full flavor be sure to add Black Pepper at the last moment when cooking.
-Always add Organic Black Pepper when using Turmeric
(since it increases the bioavailability of Turmeric up to 154%).
-My personal favorite is to add Turmeric, Black Pepper, and Pink Salt to my poached eggs.
