PantryPic #617: Turmeric

-Organic Turmeric.
-Can also purchase fresh Turmeric Root
(firm, and looks like ginger).
-Its benefits outweigh conventional medicine for anti-inflammatory,
cholesterol, diabetes, arthritis, skin health, and more!
-Active ingredient of Curcumin has strong healing and anti-cancer benefits.
-Turmeric Root or Powder is best, but also available in pill form
(seek out CO2 extracted form of Turmeric).

-Always try to combine with Organic Black Pepper
since it increases the bioavailability of Turmeric (154%-2000%).
-Great in soups, dips, potato and cauliflower recipes, on rice or quinoa, and more!
-My personal favorite is to add Turmeric, Black Pepper, and Pink Salt to my poached eggs.
*Since Turmeric is also used to dye clothing it is wise to use caution when pouring to avoid ‘yellow kitchen’.
