Save The Stems!

Save the Stems of your Greens…and eat them!

Since the stem is the part of the plant that touches the soil, it will contain a high amount of nutrients and valuable minerals.

So next time you prepare your Kale, Spinach, Swiss Chard, Bok Choy, etc try to incorporate the stems into your meal rather than throwing them in the trash.

Since fibrous stems can be very difficult (and bitter) to eat raw, consider blanching, blending, or sautéing them.
